The North Devon Sinfonia will return to Barnstaple Pannier Market on Friday, 18 September at 7.30pm for a spectacular ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert, bringing an evening of stirring music, celebration and community spirit to the heart of the town.

Taking place on the eve of Barnstaple Carnival, the concert will feature a lively and varied programme, including rousing patriotic choruses that are sure to fill the Pannier Market and set the tone for an exciting Carnival weekend.

The second half will continue with a diverse selection of much-loved music before building to a stirring finale featuring Jerusalem and God Save the King. It promises to be an uplifting evening for audiences of all ages and the perfect way to kick off the weekend’s celebrations.

We’re delighted to welcome North Devon Sinfonia back this year and look forward to another fantastic night of community spirit and celebration."

As the Pannier Market is an unheated venue, audiences are advised to wrap up warmly.

The concert is just the beginning of a weekend packed with excitement. On Saturday, 19 September, Barnstaple Carnival will bring a packed programme of events from 2pm on the Strand and in the Square, followed by the Carnival Parade at 6pm. The celebrations will then conclude with a spectacular fireworks display.
