Creative professionals across North Devon are being invited to share their experience and help shape the future workforce by joining a new Creative Industries Mentoring Programme.

Working in partnership with the University of Plymouth, the programme aims to connect young people with local professionals working in the creative industries, offering valuable insight into career pathways and opportunities across the sector.

The initiative is seeking mentors from across North Devon who are passionate about supporting young people and keen to share their own career journey. Mentors will work with a young person over a six-month period, helping to build confidence, develop employability skills and provide practical advice about working in the creative industries.

Previous mentoring experience is not required. The programme is designed to be flexible, requiring a minimum of four mentoring sessions over six months, which can be delivered either in person or online.

Councillor Malcolm Prowse, Lead Member for Regeneration, Economic Development and Planning, North Devon Council, said: "North Devon is home to an incredible wealth of creative talent, skills and expertise. We are proud to be working with the University of Plymouth to help launch and deliver the North Devon Mentoring Programme. This exciting initiative provides local creative professionals with the opportunity to inspire and support the next generation, while giving young people valuable insight into careers in the creative industries and the pathways available to them.

As well as supporting young people, mentors can benefit from developing their own communication, leadership and mentoring skills, while building connections with other creative professionals from across North Devon.
