North Devon Council is reminding residents that waste and recycling collections will be operating on a revised schedule over the August Bank Holiday.

There will be no collections on Monday, 31 August. Instead, collections will take place one day later than usual throughout the week, beginning on Tuesday, 1 September and ending on Saturday, 5 September. Normal collection days will resume from Monday, 7 September 2026.

Councillor Frank Biederman, Lead Member for Waste and Recycling, said: “The Bank Holiday means our collection crews will be working to a revised timetable for the week. We encourage residents to check their collection day if they’re unsure and to make sure their bins and recycling are ready for collection by 6am, or the evening before. Thank you for your cooperation, and I hope you have a lovely Bank Holiday.”
