Visitors to Yeo Valley Woodland, Barnstaple can now enjoy new oak benches and trim trail equipment, thanks to a £6,000 donation from the former Frankmarsh and Gorwell Community Association.
The funds were gifted to the Friends of Yeo Valley Woodland, who used them to install high-quality seating and fitness equipment to help make the woodland more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
The benches provide peaceful resting spots throughout the area, while the new trim trail encourages active play and outdoor exercise.
Councillor Ricky Knight, Lead Member for Climate and Biodiversity at North Devon Council, said: “This is a fantastic example of local people investing in the future of their community. The new benches and trim trail will help more residents enjoy the woodland and stay active in a natural setting. We’re proud to support the Friends group and their work to enhance this much-loved green space.”
Lesley Brown, member of Friends of Yeo Valley Woodland, said: “We’re really pleased to have these new additions in place. They make the woodland more welcoming and accessible for everyone, whether you want to relax or be active.”
The installation is now complete, and the new features are ready for public use.
