Council urges residents to check bin collection dates ahead of bank holidays

With the upcoming bank holidays fast approaching, North Devon Council is urging residents to stay informed about their bin collection schedules by visiting their website.

On Monday 6 May (early May bank holiday) and Monday 27 May (spring bank holiday), there will be no waste or recycling collections. Instead, collections will be carried out one day late for the whole week. This adjustment means that all collections scheduled for Monday 6 May and Monday 27 May will occur one day later than usual, running from Tuesday to Saturday.

Lead Member for Waste and Recycling at North Devon Council, Councillor Julie Hunt, says: "Our bank holiday collection schedule is straightforward, with collections simply running one day later than residents' usual collection day. We encourage all residents to check our  website at any point if they are unsure."

Residents are being reminded to display their bins, bags and containers at the kerbside by 6am on the day or evening before their collection to avoid being missed.

For information on what goes in your bin, box and bag, residents can visit the council's helpful webpage.
