The council deals with the naming and numbering of new streets and individual properties and any changes to a property's name.

When we get your application and supporting documents, we will check to make sure the name is unique and won't cause any confusion to the emergency services or to postal delivery services. In new developments, we will try to recognise local history or traditions and try to stay consistent with other names in an area that already has a theme. This process takes around 28 days.
