Warm Homes: Local Grant – Expressions of Interest Open

The Warm Homes: Local Grant provides fully funded energy-efficiency home improvements and low-carbon heating systems worth up to £30,000 for eligible low-income households in England.

The scheme runs from 2025 to March 2028 and is delivered locally by Devon County Council on behalf of North Devon Council.   Local delivery is coordinated via Energy Saving Devon, with North Devon applications expected to open in January 2027.  

You can register your interest in the scheme and you will be contacted nearer to the open date.

ECO4 and ECO4 Local Authority Flex Scheme (Closed)

The Energy Company Obligation scheme closed on 31 March 2026.  Customers that are already approved for ECO4 LA Flex but are awaiting installation should contact their installer for an update in the first instance.  In the event your installer is unable to proceed you can approach the Council for guidance on next steps available to you.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme: Funding to Install Heat Pumps

Government grants of up to £9,000 available

Most homeowners in England and Wales are eligible for government funding to help cover the cost of installing a heat pump through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Most eligible households can receive a grant of £7,500, while from 21st July some homes currently heated by oil/LPG may be eligible for an increased grant of £9,000.

Your installer will apply for the grant on your behalf through Ofgem.

To qualify, you must:

  • You own the property — whether it’s your main home or a second property
  • You’re replacing an existing fossil fuel heating system — such as gas, oil, electric, or LPG
  • Your property has a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
  • The property is located in England and Wales

The Great British Insulation Scheme 

The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) is now closed. 

The government energy efficiency scheme administered by Ofgem ended on 31 March 2026 and is no longer accepting applications.
