Waste and recycling procedures guide
As an authority, our waste and recycling aims are:
- to improve the use of resource and waste management by encouraging waste avoidance, minimisation, re-use, recycling, composting, and other recovery techniques that meet accepted best practicable environmental options
- to increase the amount and type of recyclable materials that can be collected every week
- to meet national recycling targets – 50% of all household waste to be recycled by 2020 (we currently recycle 44%)
We have a statutory duty to arrange for the collection of household waste from all domestic properties in the District.
