Terms and conditions for parking permits

The purchase of a permit does not override the regulations of a car par park. Each car park has its own regulations which are on signs in every car park. These regulations can also be viewed on our website.

If you need to use an alternative vehicle you must log in to your account and add the temporary vehicle and ensure it is selected as the active vehicle. 

If more than one vehicle is registered on your account, each time you wish to park a different vehicle you must log in to your account and ensure the correct vehicle is active. Only one vehicle can park using a permit.

Possession of a permit does not guarantee a space on the car parks. 

A resident’s permit may not be used in a reserved permit holder’s bay.

Car park specific permits are only valid in the car parks for which they are designated

Resident’s car park permits are only available for residents living within a ¼ mile radius of the car park.  Proof of address and vehicle ownership required. This may mean only part streets are covered.

Barnstaple Long Stay Permit 

This permit is valid only in the following car parks: Bickington, Fairview, Seven Brethren (long stay area), Congrams Close, Fremington, Lower Pilton, Portmarsh Lane, Rolle Quale, Rugby Club (Monday to Friday only) and Tarka, Hardaway Head.

Barnstaple Rugby Club Car Park

 Permit is only valid from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, excluding Bank Holidays.

Reserved permits 

Reserved bays in Castle Quay, Coronation Street,Loverings Court, Lower Pilton, Magdalene Lawn, Mary Magdelene, Oxford Grove, Portland Buildings, Portmarsh Lane, Rolle Quay & Silver Street are only valid for the car park and the space number(s) stated on your account.

Please note that Castle Quay Car Park is liable to flooding. It is your responsibility to check the tides and if the weather and tide make the car park unusable you are requested to use Commercial Road Car Park during this period only.

Ilfracombe Long Stay Car Park Permit 

This permit is valid only in the following car parks: Brookdale (not coach area), Hele, Hillsborough (not coach area), Larkstone Lane, Oxford Grove & Marine Drive (01 November to 14 March only).

Ilfracombe Winter Permit 

This permit is valid is valid from 01 November 2019 until 14 March 2020 in the following car parks only: Brookdale (not coach area), Cove, Hillsborough (not coach area), Jubilee Gardens, Larkstone Lane, Oxford Grove & Wilder Rd. 

Evening Residents Permit 

The permit is valid only in the car park specified on your account from 4.45pm until Midnight each day.

North Devon Rover 

This is a season ticket valid in all North Devon Council car parks in Barnstaple (excluding Cattle Market), Ilfracombe (excluding Pier), South Molton, Lynton and Lynmouth (excluding Lower Lyndale), Croyde and Morthoe.  Maximum 2 weeks per vehicle per year.

Long Stay Season Ticket 

This is a season ticket available for 4 or 7 days and is valid in all of the following car parks: 

  • Barnstaple: Bicton Street, Congrams Close, Lower Pilton, Portmarsh Lane, Seven Brethren(long stay), Tarka, Hardaway Head

  • Bickington 

  • Croyde 

  • Fremington

  • Ilfracombe: Brookdale, Hele, Hillsborough, Larkstone Lane, Oxford Grove, 

  • Lynton & Lynmouth: Bottom Meadow, Cross Street, Esplanade, Upper Lyndale, Valley of the Rocks, Watersmeet

  • Morthoe

  • South Molton: Central

Reserved Bay permits 

Permit holders are assigned a specific bay number if an unauthorised vehicle is parked in you bay the parking office must be informed immediately either by calling customer services 01271 388279 or emailing:
