17 June 2022
There's good news for North Devon's foodies, as the district's biggest food and drink festival, FOODfest, is returning for 2022. The event will take place on Sunday 11 September at Barnstaple Pannier Market and will feature many local food and drink exhibitors.
Event organisers North Devon Council are delighted to be bringing the festival back for its 13th year after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic. 2022 will be the 13th year FOODfest has taken place, with popularity increasing year on year since it first launched in 2008. With top chefs from some of North Devon’s best local restaurants, 100 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors at FOODfest in 2019, the event is now a firm favourite in the south west foodie calendar.
Food and drink producers are invited to apply to trade at FOODfest via the council's website: www.northdevon.gov.uk/foodfest.
Hannah Harrington from Barnstaple Town Centre Manager, says: “We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing FOODfest back after a two year break as a result of COVID. This is a unique opportunity for local food and drink businesses to showcase the very best of what they have to offer to the thousands of visitors who attend this event. We were so disappointed to have to cancel the event in 2020 and 2021, so this year we are coming back bigger and better than ever before. Our online booking form for prospective stallholders has now launched and will be very popular, so get your applications in before you miss out!"
Leader of North Devon Council, Councillor David Worden says: “FOODfest helps to promote our area and support our suppliers, growers and traders. FOODfest is always a massive boost for the town’s economy, with thousands of visitors enjoying some of the best food and drink our wonderful district has to offer. The event is sure to be as popular as ever and is a great opportunity for local food producers to showcase their businesses.”
The event's social media pages (Facebook and Instagram - @northdevonfoodfest) will be updated regularly. Anyone with queries can email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01271 388216.
