North Devon residents are being encouraged to sign up for free email bulletins to make sure that they stay up-to-date with the latest advice, support and news from North Devon Council.

With the coronavirus outbreak affecting most areas of everyday life, North Devon Council is using its email bulletin service to update residents on all aspects of its services. This includes the option to receive a dedicated coronavirus bulletin, providing important updates on how council services are affected, as well as information and links to other groups and organisations that can help and support residents and businesses through the pandemic. Subscribers can also opt to receive a weekly ‘local business’ bulletin aimed at local business owners, which includes up-to-date information on the financial and practical support available to businesses affected by the outbreak, and how to access it.

As well as this, subscribers can also choose to receive service-specific updates including economy news, waste and recycling updates, planning, community and grant news. Signing up to the free bulletin service means residents receive the most up-to-date news first , direct to their email inbox.

Leader of North Devon Council, Councillor David Worden, says: "What we previously thought of as 'normal' day-to-day life is changing frequently and will continue to do so over the coming weeks and months as we deal with the coronavirus outbreak. We want to make sure our residents and business owners stay up-to-date with what is happening at the council so now more than ever, having this facility at our fingertips is proving vital to help get important messages out.  We started sending out email bulletins just over a year ago and the popularity has grown since then.

"I encourage residents who have signed up in the past to check in from time to time and update their subscriptions, our officers frequently add new topics so make sure you stay up-to-date with what is out there for you."
