Use RingGo app for hassle free parking
02 December 2020
Now retail shops are allowed to re-open after lockdown, thoughts turn to Christmas shopping, and North Devon Council is encouraging shoppers to use the RingGo app to pay for parking in its car parks this festive season, and beyond.
RingGo is the only Covid safe payment method, allowing people to avoid touching the car park ticket machine completely. Other advantages are:
- once you have set it up you'll never need to worry about having the right change for parking again
- with RingGo you don’t have to rush back to your car – you can extend your parking on the go
- why stand in a queue in the rain when you can pay for your parking quickly and securely with the app?
- RingGo's helpful reminders (costing 10p extra) alert you when your parking is running out
RingGo is the UK's number one rated parking app, used by 477 towns and cities, 140 Local Authorities and 16 million customers in the UK, so you can be safe in the knowledge that your personal details are kept safely and securely. Simply download the free RingGo app from the App Store or Google Play Store and register with a few details. If you’re not a smartphone user, you can register and park by calling the number shown on parking signs or register online.
Leader of North Devon Council, Councillor David Worden, says: "During the Coronavirus pandemic, RingGo has been a great advantage as you can pay for parking in a safe way using your phone. I understand some of our residents do not have smartphones or access to the internet, but RingGo does offer the chance to pay by telephoning an automated number as well. As it is so widely used by many local authorities around the UK, we hope that people will see the advantages of using it. Anyone wishing to park for free can use our long stay car parks in Barnstaple all day on a Sunday at no cost."
North Devon is not the only place in Devon where you can use RingGo, you can also use it to pay for parking in Exeter, Mid Devon, Plymouth, South Hams, Teignbridge, Torbay, Torridge, West Devon and many other places across the country, so its always handy to have it downloaded wherever you are travelling.
Please double check the car park accepts RingGo payments and that you have entered the correct car park code before you pay, as some car parks are managed privately or by town or parish councils.
