Changes to bin collection dates for upcoming bank holidays

North Devon Council bin collection

North Devon Council is reminding residents to check their bin collection dates ahead of the upcoming bank holidays in May.

There will be no waste or recycling collections on Monday 4 May (Early May Bank Holiday) or Monday 25 May (Spring Bank Holiday). Instead, collections will take place one day later than usual. Revised schedules will run from Tuesday 5 May to Saturday 9 May for the Early May Bank Holiday, and from Tuesday 26 May to Saturday 30 May for the Spring Bank Holiday.

Residents are encouraged to visit the council’s website to confirm their revised collection day.

Councillor Julie Hunt, Lead Member for Waste and Recycling said: “With the upcoming bank holidays, we strongly encourage residents to check their collection dates in advance. Taking a moment to look at the updated schedule will help ensure bins are presented on the correct day and collections run smoothly. If in any doubt, residents can check our website at any time.”

To ensure collections are not missed, residents are reminded to place their bins, bags and containers at the kerbside by 6am on the day of collection or the evening before.

For guidance on what items should go in each bin, box or bag, visit the council’s dedicated webpage.
