North Devon Council has set up a new Community Warm Spaces Fund. The cost-of-living crisis is having an impact on individuals and communities in North Devon including those already in poverty, those just about making ends meet and other vulnerable groups.

If you are a North Devon community group, charity, CIC, Church, voluntary group or Parish/Town Council you can apply now for funding to support your work in supporting communities located in the North Devon Council area through the cost-of-living crisis over the winter period.  The project must be located within the District or be of significant benefit to people living in North Devon and the group must be legally able to carry out the activities.

Some examples may include providing a warm place for the community to meet where the community can receive information and advice on budget saving tips, providing help with food, providing health and wellbeing support.

We ask that the following principles apply for all users of Warms Spaces:

  • You will receive a warm welcome every time you come to a Warm Space.
  • You will be treated fairly and with dignity and respect
  • You will be in a safe space and safeguarding policies will be adhered to
  • Every Warm Space will be a non-judgemental place.

Applications for funding of schemes up to £1,000 are welcomed and must be of benefit to a community located within the North Devon Council area.

This fund will close in March 2023 at the latest and could close before this time if the total fund has been spent earlier.
