In May 2019, a partnership formed to respond to the climate and ecological emergency in Devon.

The Devon Climate Emergency Response Group (DCERG) is made up of senior officers of about 25 organisations including councils, emergency services, businesses and voluntary organisations and has been established to provide the strategic coordination of a collaborative response to the Devon Climate Emergency.

As well working on the Devon Climate Emergency response, we are also working on reducing our own organisational emissions.

The Devon Climate Emergency partners invited a Net-ZeroTask Force of fifteen specialists to create an evidence-led Devon Carbon Plan recommending a pathway to achieve net-zero emissions and the earliest credible date to do so. A separate body, the Climate Impacts Group, is producing a Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Adaptation Plan to help prepare communities to live in a warmer and more resilient world.

A consultation is now available to take part in on the Devon Climate Emergency’s (DCE) website which runs from Monday 7 December for 10 weeks. We want to hear your views.

Due to recent lockdown restrictions libraries in Devon are closed. Therefore, paper copies cannot be picked up from libraries. Instead we are asking those wanting to take part call 0345 155 1015.

Alternatively please email environmentalpolicy@devon.gov.uk to request a copy.
