Ilfracombe

We have continued working with all partners to progress this project. We have received confirmation from Homes England that we have secured £6,500,000 funding for the Ilfracombe Southern extension, to provide roads, drainage and community facilities including a serviced school site, subject to certain conditions. The package replaces the original request to be used to forward fund a school at this site as the money had to be spent by 2021, but it was not possible to build the school within the timescale. A school would still be delivered, but not alongside the first phase of housing.

Westacott

Homes England have now confirmed that this scheme has received the internal approvals to proceed with the formal award of a grant, subject to a number conditions. The £2,600,000 grant would be used to fund a roundabout off the A361 to access the Westacott development and unlock the delivery of 820 homes. The funding has to be spent by March 2022 and is provided on the basis that it is recovered as the scheme progresses and recycled to deliver additional homes.
