You can ensure you are minimising any risks from tattooing by checking our public register of tattoo premises to ensure that the tattooist that you are considering visiting is registered with us. 

Please do not be tempted to tattoo yourself, ask a friend to do it or visit a `scratcher`. A scratcher is a person that is not registered to tattoo and may be doing so from an unregistered premises, including a home, increasing the risk of infection. We encourage anyone with any information about illegal tattooists to report this to us so that we can investigate.
