A free brochure showcasing summer events in Barnstaple has been produced by the Flourishing Barnstaple team and is available from today (Wednesday 17 June).
Following the success of Barnstaple’s Christmas brochure, the team has once again worked with the town’s events group and local organisations to promote a wide range of activities. Packed with events and things to do, the brochure is available online, and can also be picked up from a range of locations across the town this week, including:
- Barnstaple Pannier Market
- Barnstaple Library
- Queen’s Theatre
- Museum of Barnstaple & North Devon
- St Anne’s Chapel
- Barnstaple Town Council
- Green Lanes Shopping Centre
Featuring more than 150 events across Barnstaple, the brochure highlights a packed summer programme, leading up to the much‑anticipated Barnstaple Fair and Carnival in September.
Cultural Producer Lee Baxendale said: “There’s so much going on across Barnstaple this summer, from performances and workshops to family-friendly events and more, so it’s brilliant to be able to bring everything together in one place. The town really has something for everyone, whether you live here or are just visiting, and this brochure is a great way to see what’s on and get involved.”
The brochure has been created by Flourishing Barnstaple in partnership with the Barnstaple Events Group, which brings together event organisers and venues from across the town. The group works collaboratively to strengthen Barnstaple’s cultural offer and create new opportunities for partnership working.
Anyone interested in getting involved with the group can find out more by emailing culture@northdevon.gov.uk.
Flourishing Barnstaple is a North Devon Council initiative funded by the Government’s Cultural Development Fund and administered by Arts Council England.
