Domestic rubbish and recycling collections

Please make sure your bins, bags and boxes are at the kerbside before 7.00 am on the day of your collections.



North Devon Council aims to give you a first rate kerbside collection service, which allows you to increase the amount of your rubbish that is recycled and helps to cut the amount of waste sent to landfill.

As a result, we offer a comprehensive weekly recycling service across the whole of North Devon, with the majority of customers receiving a fortnightly alternate black and green wheelie bin service.

We can also give you more information on the following issues:

Please ensure you put the correct bin, box or bag out on the kerbside before 7.00 am on the day of your collection, and no earlier than 6.00 pm the night before.

If you have difficulty placing your rubbish out for collection, due to ill health or disability, we may be able to help you with an assisted refuse collection. To qualify for an assisted collection you need to have some type of health restriction which means you are unable to move or lift your bins, bags or boxes. This could be permanent or temporary. Although If you have another able bodied adult living at the property you will not qualify for an assisted collection.
