North Devon Direct Summer 2009

Welcome

Welcome to our Summer edition...

You’ve no doubt noticed that this edition has not been delivered through your door. You are reading it either because you have found it inside your North Devon Journal or South Molton News, or you’ve picked it up somewhere locally like a supermarket or Post Office.

The reason we have done this is because we found many people weren’t getting their copy and also, this new way of getting it out is saving us over £2,000 in delivery costs every edition. We hope you agree that this is a much better, more cost-effective way of getting the magazine to you.

If you are reading this on THURSDAY 4 JUNE, put the magazine down and get out and vote! Today is election day in North Devon and you have the opportunity to vote for your local Devon county councillors and your members of the European Parliament (MEPs). You have until 10pm to get
down to your local polling station and have your say on who you want to make very important decisions about your future. More info on this is on
page nine.

In the last issue of North Devon Direct, we informed you of plans to move our Waste and Recycling site at Seven Brethren to Brynsworthy. We would like to clarify this only relates to North Devon Council’s vehicle and storage depot and not the main
recycling centre owned by Devon County Council.

Finally, June is North Devon Festival month! (Although they pack so much in now that it has to start in May!) Turn to page 12 to get a flavour of the wonderful activities planned as part of
this magnificent annual event.

Best wishes,

Claire Holm
Communications Manager
