Requests for Service
The Team responds to requests for service from tenants who feel that they are not being provided with a satisfactory standard of accommodation, e.g. problems with damp or a leaking roof.
The request will be passed onto an investigating Officer who will discuss the matter further with the tenant and then the landlord (if appropriate). Feedback on progress and the final outcome will be given.
The Team aims to ensure that the rights of tenants in private sector housing are protected, therefore promoting public health.
The aim is also to work closely with landlords, in order to promote the provision of high standards of tenanted accommodation within the Council's area. Guidance is provided to landlords who are looking to provide accommodation in the rented sector of the market.
Home Energy Efficiency
The Team is working to promote Home Energy Efficiency in the Council's area.
Grant funding is available for cavity wall/loft insulation, as well as other home energy efficiency matters:
