Practice Profile- The Built Environment

Recent projects undertaken by the unit include:-

Woodlands Enterprise Centre Pathfields South Molton
Comprising seven industrial startup units and a business support unit,This project was designed in-house and is sustainably designed. It incorporates renewable energy sources including an air source heat pump heating system The roof,walls and floor have super insulation and have recycled materials usage where appropriate.There is minimal use of plastics,  water harvesting measures are incorporated and a  central recycling area is provided All ventilation is passive with no forced air systems. There is platform lift access to the first floor training suite and the development is fully DDA compliant. The project achieved a BREEAM rating of VERY GOOD  and is fully  Devon and Cornwall Police "Secured by Design" compliant  The development was completed in August 2007

46 Sheltered Flats in Ilfracombe, Devon
Incorporating  warden accommodation, common room and underground car parking.
The project also includes a Public Library for Devon County Council and 10 shops for letting on the open market.

New Unisex charter toilets at the Pier Ilfracombe
Completed in 2001, this was the pilot project for a £2.1m public convenience upgrade programme which saw sub standard toilet facilities either withdrawn, transferred to parish councils or rebuilt as charter standard buildings with unisex cubicles, advanced water controls, forced air ventilation and anti vandal sanitary ware. This site was a rebuild on an existing toilet site

Completed in June 2003 this block was also sited on a former toilet site and was the model for  all other blocks built to date.
