North Devon Health Profile
The North Devon Health Profile is produced by the Association of Public Health Observatories (APHO), in consultation with national, regional and local partners, including our local Director of Public Health.
The Government's Choosing Health White Paper in November 2004 recognised that if local communities are to take action to improve health they need clear, understandable and timely information about local needs and trends. As a result, the APHO was commissioned by the Department of Health to produce Health Profiles for every Local Authority in England. The Public Health Observatories produced all the Health Profiles to the agreed deadline set out in the government's 'Choosing Health' White Paper. The profiles form part of the Department of Health's Public Health Information and Intelligence Strategy, details of which are on the Department of Health's website (Informing Healthier Choices: Information and Intelligence for Healthy Populations.
