The North Devon Health and Safety Forum was set up on 16 May 2006, with the following objectives:
The North Devon Health and Safety Forum was set up on 16 May 2006, with the following objectives:
- to provide a forum for dialogue between the NDC Environmental Health service and local employers/employees
- to explore how we can work together to improve standards of health and safety at work, thereby the local economy (key priority for the Council)
- to listen to employers’/employees’ views and concerns
- to communicate areas of concern, of a general nature
- to identify ways we can improve the services we deliver
- to identify the needs of local employers/employees that need addressing (not necessarily by NDC)
- to identify and address any inequality of service delivery
Membership of the forum is intended to be representative of a wide spectrum of employers/employees within the North Devon district, including
- offices
- shops
- hotels/catering/hospitality
- warehouses
- tyre depots
- builders’ merchants
- caravan parks
- garden centres
- equipment/service providers
- training organisations
- insurance companies
