Rock Park
North Devon Council and Barnstaple Town Council are working together to make major improvements to Rock Park through a two stage improvement project.
Phase one, construction of a new play area, is now complete.

The play area includes:
- a toddlers area for children 3-7 years of age
- a junior area for children 8-12 years of age
- a picnic and seating area with wheelchair access
- a sensory garden
- a large variety of swings, slides and climbing frames for children with different abilities
New paths, lighting, CCTV and a new high quality toilet block were all installed as part of this first phase. The new play area has been specially designed so there is room for it to expand in the future.
North Devon Council is now turning its attention to the next stage of the project, which is to create a new skateboard park on the site of the old children’s playground. Once a contractor has been chosen it is hoped they will start work on the new SK8 park in October 2008.
