Litter bin

Who do I contact to get a litter bin emptied?

North Devon Council"s contractors empty litter bins according to an agreed schedule. However, if a litter bin is overflowing or you wish to complain that a litter bin is not emptied frequently enough, please phone us on 01271 374776.

Street sweeping

The council"s contractors sweep the adopted streets in its area according to an agreed schedule. If you feel that the streets in your area are not maintained to a satisfactory standard of cleanliness or are not cleaned regularly enough, please contact us on 01271 374776.

North Devon Council is responsible for keeping the road/pavements clear of general litter. Please note that Devon County Council is responsible for maintaining and ensuring a safe highway and will remove mud and wet leaves if causing a danger.

Do you clean private roads/highways?

Privately owned streets/highways are not included on the council"s cleaning schedule.
