Trade waste and recycling
North Devon Council can provide a regular collection for your commercial waste. We also provide trade recycling collections in certain areas.
Alternatively, we also offer a free drop off facility for your recyclable materials but they must be pre-sorted in to the following categories;
clear glass, coloured glass, plastic bottles, paper, cardboard, tins and textiles.
Waste collections can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly or seasonal, whenever is most convenient for you and your business.
We can supply you with the right container to suit your needs, such as:
- blue bags for small amounts of commercial rubbish
- wheeled bins, available in various sizes from 360 litre up to 1,100 litres
- labels to stick on cardboard - this can be stored in a wheeled bin, separate to commercial residual waste, or with the cardboard bundled together by tape we provide
Our
competitive pricing structure is based upon the wheelie bin size, quantity of bins required, collection
frequency and location. Please contact our Trade Waste team to discuss your requirements. We can also
arrange to visit your premises to discuss possible options with you.
All waste created by the commercial and trade industry must be sorted to filter out items that can be recycled, cutting down on the amount of waste sent to landfill. This is required by law in the 1990 Environmental Protection Act, which states all businesses are required to have a 'duty of care' trade waste agreement with a trade waste contractor.
For further information, see the Duty of Care regulations
or NetRegs
which gives environmental guidance for businesses.
To ensure continuation of service, please sign and return both your trade waste agreement (pdf 79 kB)
and 'duty of care' document (pdf

and return to us.
