Greensweep waste management
Wheelie bins
Our wheelie bin scheme involves giving people two bins, one green and one black. The green bin is for garden waste and food waste and your black bin is for non recyclable household waste.
Brown bags
The brown bags have been introduced to enable you to recycle your cardboard and should be put out for collection on the same day as your recycling green box and bag.
We will only be able to take away what is in your brown bag. Large quantities of cardboard may be collected by appointment. Please call the Greensweep team to arrange collection on 340390.
Green boxes and bags
The green plastic box is for all your ‘dry’ recyclables such as plastic bottles, tin cans and glass jars. The green bag is for old newspapers, clothes and catalogues you no longer want.
Kitchen Caddy
The kitchen caddy is for temporary storage of your food waste. Once full, your kitchen caddy can be emptied into your green wheelie bin, home composter or kerbside caddy.
Kerbside Caddy
The kerbside caddy will be collected by recycling crews along with your green box, green bag and brown bag.
This will be on your normal recycling collection day.
Recycling pavilions
The recycling pavilions dotted around North Devon are no longer in service, due to the fact that we now offer a collection to everyone in the district. Bottle and paper banks are still available in some areas.
