- In respect of any planning application members or officers as appropriate will:
- declare any pecuniary or non-pecuniary interest & take no part or a restricted part, as appropriate, in the processing and determination of the planning application
- act impartially & honestly
- approach each application with an open mind
- take into account & carefully weigh up all relevant issues
- determine each application on its own merits & in accordance with the requirements of Planning Law & the guidance of planning policy
- avoid inappropriate contact with interested parties (see further the section on lobbying )
- ensure the reasons for their decision are recorded in writing
