Committee Site Visits
7.1 Members proposing that the Committee make a site visit before determining an application will identify the benefit of the proposal which would accrue from having a site visit.
7.2 Members will endeavour to ensure that a proposal for a site visit is accepted only when the expected benefit is substantial e.g.

7.2 Members will endeavour to ensure that a proposal for a site visit is accepted only when the expected benefit is substantial e.g.
- when the impact of the proposed development is difficult to visualise from the plans & the supporting material
- there is a good reason why the comments of the applicants & objectors cannot be expressed adequately in writing or by verbal presentation at the Committee meeting
- when the proposal is particularly contentious.
7.3 The reason(s) for the site visit will be minuted & a copy placed on the application file
7.4 The procedure adopted by the Council from time to time for the conduct of site visits will be strictly adhered to in order to ensure all interested parties are treated fairly & equally & to maintain an open & transparent process.
