If you would like to receive an email notifying you of updates to the election diary please send your email address to us via this email: elections@northdevon.gov.uk with a short appropriate message. Please be advised that some internet service providers (ISP) block mailings that appear to be sent to many addresses. A briefing for Candidates and Agents will be held on Monday 23rd March at the Taw Room, Civic Centre, Barnstaple at 7pm.

Published on 30th March 2015 for Parliamentary and 16th March 2015.
Nomination Papers.
Will be available from the Election Office and this page from 30th March 2015.
FOR PARLIAMENTARY NOMINATIONS PLEASE CONTACT THE ELECTIONS OFFICE TO ARRANGE A DATE AND TIME. ANY NOMINATIONS SENT THROUGH THE POST CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AND WILL BE CLASSED AS UNDELIVERED.
Poll Cards.
Poll Cards will be sent out to households on 26th March 2015.
Close of Nominations.
4pm on 9th April 2015
Withdrawal of Nomination.
Please note that the Close of Withdrawals is the same deadline as the Close of Nominations. Therefore any person that submits a Nomination for more than one area will need to withdraw before the close of Nominations.
Postal Votes
Close of Applications to vote by Post
5pm 21st April 2015.
Postal Votes will be sent out  by 1st Class mail on 23rd & 24th April 2015.
Opening of Postal Votes
Opening of Postal Votes will take place from Monday 27th April at 10am in the Torridge Room on a daily basis.
Expense limits for Candidates.
The level that a Candidate can spend at the Election is £8,700 & 6p per Elector for the Parliamentary Election..
The calculation will be based on the Register of Electors published on 1st April 2015.
Figures will be available after this date.
Candidates request for Registers of Electors.
Registers of Electors will be available on request from 30th March 2015. A form is required to be completed. Download a copy of the form (PDF 12 KB) PDF logo or call 01271 388277 to be sent one. The form will be part of the Nomination Pack.

Counting of votes
The verification of All Elections will take place on Thursday 7th May 2015 at 10pm following the close of Poll.
Counting of votes.
The Counting of Votes will take place for the Parliamentary ONLY following the verification of ballot papers on 7th May 2015 and proceed into 8th May 2015
District Elections Counts will take place on Friday 8th May 2015  (Time still to be arranged)
Parish Council Election Counts will take place on Monday 11th May 2015 (From 10am)
All verification and Counts will take Place at the Sports Hall, Leisure Centre, Barnstaple.

Notification of appointment of election agents - 4pm – 9TH APRIL
Publication of notice of poll/situation of polling stations - 5PM 9TH APRIL
Deadline for new postal vote applications /changes to existing postal or proxy vote applications - 5pm – 21ST APRIL
Deadline for applications to register to vote - Midnight – 20TH APRIL
Sending out postal votes - 23RD – 24TH APRIL
Opening postal votes - 27TH APRIL onwards from 10am
Deadline for applications for new proxy votes - 5pm – 28TH APRIL
Appointment of counting and polling agents - 29TH APRIL

An event is being on 10th February at the Civic Centre. Part of the presentation will touch on the Election process. This Event is for those who are considering standing as a District Councillor.

Nomination Papers
Will be available from the Election Office, Parish Clerks and this page from 16th March 2015.
Parish Clerks will be sent Nomination Packs in advance of 16th March 2015.
Parish Clerks will be sent the same number of Nominations as per seats on the Parish Council. If more required please contact the Election Office.
