Council tax benefits

To apply for Council Tax Benefit and/or Housing Benefit you will need to complete an application form and provide evidence of your present income. If you can not supply evidence of your income immediately please send in the form anyway. (We will need to see evidence at a later date).

If you have a family please contact the Child and Working Tax Credit help line on 0845 300 3900.

Please try our Housing and Council Tax Benefit page for more general information.

If you have a change in your work pattern or if you have been signed off sick, you may be entitled to claim other benefits. Each case will be looked at individually. For further advice please contact the Department for Work and Pensions by telephone on 0845 603 6095 or visit their website The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) external website.
