Creation and Enhancement: The Development of an Open Space Strategy for North Devon

Main Report- Bennett Leisure and Planning in association with North Devon District Council September 2001

We wish to thank all those community groups, sports clubs, schools and other organisations which responded to the various surveys undertaken as part of this study. Their comments and ideas provided much valuable information. The back cover to this report presents a selection of comments from primary schoolchildren.

For the data collection and mapping we wish to record our special thanks to officers of the Parks and Amenities Unit at North Devon District Council, especially Lee Hembrow, who was closely involved in setting up the original classification system and the compilation of the North Devon District Open Space Database.

Maps showing the distribution of different types of open space within the main settlements in North Devon have also been prepared by the Parks and Amenities Unit.
