Learning and Skills Council

Learning and Skills Council - their mission is to raise participation and attainment through high-quality education and training which puts learners first.

Their vision is that, by 2010, young people and adults in England will have the knowledge and productive skills matching the best in the world.

With a budget of £5.5 billion the Council operates through 47 local offices and a national office in Coventry.

Established in April 2001 their work covers:

2. work-based training and young people

3. workforce development

4. adult and community learning

5. information, advice and guidance for adults

6. education business links.
