Last year the Ilfracombe Community Alliance was granted £56,000 from the South West of England Regional Development Agency (SWRDA). This money is to help in a process of regeneration and in developing Ilfracombe and the surrounding hinterlands for our future. The Alliance plays an important role in this process of regeneration. They are instrumental in the co-ordination of the SWRDA’s Market and Coastal Towns Initiative (MCTI) and this process means Ilfracombe now has the opportunity to develop both socially and economically.

This process is intended to draw up a vision for up to the next 20 years, and creating a business plan that can be taken to a brokerage table. Giving future projects a better chance of being funded and at the same time encouraging inward investment from private sources into the area.
