To register a birth, marriage or death

You may register a birth or death or give notice of marriage/civil partnership at any of the registration offices in Devon, except Plymouth or Torbay. These offices are situated in Exeter, Barnstaple, Newton Abbot, Totnes, Tavistock, Tiverton, Honiton and Northam.

All registrations and notices are by appointment only.

You can get copies of birth, death or marriage certificates by calling the Customer Service Centre on 0845 1551002 and asking for the records department.

There is an induction loop system available for the hearing impaired at the district office and outstations. Please let us know if you need the induction loop when making your appointment.
