Debt is a growing problem nowadays and finding yourself in debt can be very difficult to cope with. However, you are not alone and there are some actions you can take to control the situation.

People who have to pay rent and/or Council Tax can claim Benefit. You may qualify if you are on income support or a low income. Please visit our Social Benefits pages for more information and a request form.

Sometimes finding the money to pay your Council Tax may be a problem. If you have problems paying your Council Tax you should contact the Council Tax Office who can discuss your payment problems and talk through any benefits, exemptions or discounts you may be entitled to.
