Community Councillor Grants
The North Devon Council’s grants scheme aims to offer support to organisations and projects that are of direct benefit to the people, the environment and the community of the North Devon District.
Grants may be awarded to projects or services which benefit a smaller area or a specific community. Each District Councillor had £1500 in 2007/08, £2000 in 2008/09, £1500 in 2009/10 and £1000 for 2010/11 for projects within their electoral ward

Awarded the following:
- Frankmarsh & Gorwell Community project - £3500 toward the portacabin
- Barnstaple Carnival Committee = £300 toward running the 2010 carnival
Budget remaining for £2010/11 is £1200
Grants in 2009/2010
Budget for 2009/2010: £5000
Awarded the following grants:
- Christchurch Short mat Bowling Club - £300 towards the cost of a new electronic mat.
- Barnstaple Town Centre Management - £100 towards the cost of the 2009 winter festival.
- Barnstaple Squadron Air Training Corps - £400 toward the cost of a back projection system for the squadron flight simulator

No grants were awarded, leaving a balance to carry forward to 2009/10 of £3500
