Gambling Act 2005 Toolkit

Introduction
This Toolkit provides Licence-holders and members of the public with a dedicated resource of information and guidance on the provisions of the Gambling Act and the Council's policy.
The Council's Gambling Act 2005 Policy

The Council's Policy (pdf 558 kb)
provides guidelines on how to decide which premises in North Devon will be given a licence and the nature and scale of gambling activities that will be allowed. The Council will also be authorised to issue temporary use notices to premises that want to conduct certain types of gambling for limited periods.
The changes will have an effect on licensing for amusement arcades, alcohol licensed premises, private clubs, bingo clubs, casinos, betting offices and lotteries.
The Gambling Act 2005 was introduced by the Government to revise Gambling Laws that had been in effect since as far back as 1963.
Central to the Act are three core objectives which form the basis of the Council’s policy.
