Licensing

The Licensing Team provides the main licensing/registration function for the North Devon District Council. Much of the work of the Team is statutory, i.e. a legislative requirement and centres around the protection of public health.

The Team regulates many commercial activities for the reasons described above, and aims to work in partnership with the commercial sector/service providers to ensure co-operation and development of a good working relationship.

Most licences require the payment of an application/registration fee.
Application Forms - Important Note

The Licensing Team is in the process of redesigning the application forms to make them consistent, easier to use and understand, as well as comply with Data Protection and Equality Standards.

Please note that the forms are currently designed for either on-line completion or to be printed out and then completed manually.  Word and .pdf formats area available.

In parts, the Word forms have drop down options to the right of the relevant field, eg application type. Please ensure that the correct option is chosen.

On-line submission to the Licensing Team is currently unavailable, but with the use of our interactive licensing web pages, it is hoped that members of the public will be able to create a personal client account and make on-line applications/manage their portfolio of Licences - to be phased in, commencing August/September 2007.

The licensing procedures contained on this website are for guidance only, for further details please contact us on 01271 388870 or email customerservices@northdevon.gov.uk. In some circumstances it may be necessary for you to seek your own independent legal advice.
