Business and licensing
This section provides information on business licensing and support for local businesses, including:
- licensing and registration: we carry out licensing/registration functions for many commercial activities, working in partnership with local business whilst fulfilling our obligation to protect public safety
- business support: general advice for business and signposts to other organisations
- business rates and rate relief schemes: we administer Small business rate relief for smaller businesses and 'Start Up, Top Up' rate relief for new businesses
- commercial property: we provide links to commercial agents and we manage the Woodlands Enterprise Centre in South Molton, comprising business workspace units and a business support centre with meeting rooms that can be hired (contact the Economic Development team telephone: 01271 388216 for details of self contained 2,000 square feet units available to rent or to book a meeting/training room)
- the North Devon business directory: a free tool to advertise you business or find business in the area
