Please note that the Close of Withdrawals is the same deadline as the Close of Nominations. Therefore any person that submits a Nomination for more than one area will need to withdraw before the close of Nominations.

Postal Votes

Close of Applications to vote by Post

5pm 21st April 2015.

Postal Votes will be sent out  by 1st Class mail on 23rd & 24th April 2015.

Opening of Postal Votes

Opening of Postal Votes will take place from Monday 27th April at 10am in the Torridge Room on a daily basis.

Postal voters lists are available on request. A form is required to be completed. Download a copy of the form (PDF 50 KB) or call 01271 388277 to be sent one.

Expense limits for Candidates

The level that a Candidate can spend at the Election is £8,700 & 9p per Elector for the Parliamentary Election.

The calculation is based on the Register of Electors published on 1st April 2015.

The Parliamentary Electorate Figure for the 1st April 2015 is 73,473. This has been published in relation to Parliamentary Candidates Expenses limits.

Registers of Electors will be available on request from 30th March 2015. A form is required to be completed. Download a copy of the form (PDF 12 KB) or call 01271 388277 to be sent one.

Counting of votes

The verification of All Elections will take place on Thursday 7th May 2015 at 10pm following the close of Poll.

The Counting of Votes will take place for the Parliamentary ONLY following the verification of ballot papers on 7th May 2015 and proceed into 8th May 2015

District Elections Counts will take place on Friday 8th May 2015  (Time still to be arranged)

Parish Council Election Counts will take place on Monday 11th May 2015 (From 10am)

All verification and counts will take place at the Sports Hall, Leisure Centre, Barnstaple.
