Goodleigh parish council review
The council received a request from Goodleigh Parish Council, requesting a review with regard to increasing the number of parish councillors that sit on Goodleigh Parish Council. At present, they have five Members but have found themselves inquorate at many meetings and by increasing the numbers they are hopeful this will help with the attendance at meetings. At the last election, the parish council was required to co-opt councillors to which they had a positive response and feel that that the problem is encouraging people to stand for election rather than serving on the council. The Parish Council also considers that an increase in councillors is required due to the amount of business now being conducted.
The review has been completed and the order (999KB PDF) has been sealed.
The changes will be implemented in December 2012 when an election will be required for the additional two Parish Councillors required.
