Cash grants for businesses

Latest update: Monday 30 March

Funding is coming to us from government this week and local business support grants should start to be paid out mid-April to businesses where we currently hold bank details. Please don't contact us about it yet - most payments will be automatic and we'll be advising all other eligible businesses via this website in the next week on how to provide their bank details to us when these payments are ready to go.

The grants are to support the many small businesses which pay little or no business rates because of Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR). The government has promised to provide £10,000 cash grant to business across the country which are currently eligible for either SBRR or Rural Rate Relief, to help meet their ongoing business costs.

A £25,000 grant will also be provided to retail, hospitality and leisure businesses operating from smaller premises, with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000.

Full government guidance is available on their business support pages.

You can also email economicdevelopment@northdevon.gov.uk to request more information about Coronavirus-related business grants when it becomes available.
